Introducing what we hope will be a new tradition:
Pin trading at the
PrepVolleyball.com Classic.
The pin program, which starts this year with 15 great custom-made pins, is
another way the PrepVolleyball.com Classic sets itself apart as a tournament
that blends great volleyball with great fun, all in one location. Inspired from
the program at Walt Disney World, the concept is simple: find a pin you like and
trade for it.
Here’s how it will work. Players may bring pins from their clubs to trade OR may
purchase a three-pin starter kit for $3 at the t-shirt vendor booth. Players may
then swap their pins for fancier and/or limited edition pins by:
1. Finding a PrepVolleyball.com Classic staffer (could be me, a referee, a
trainer, etc.) in a distinctive Classic T-shirt wearing a pin trading lanyard or
vest.
2. Finding a pin they like.
3. Asking to trade any pin they have for that pin.
No trade will be refused so long as a player has a pin to trade that isn’t
damaged and the Staff member doesn’t already have that pin displayed.
A player may trade up to two pins per day with the same Staff member.
Staff members will swap out their pins periodically during the day, so if you
don’t see a pin you want to trade in the morning, check back later. You may see
something you like!
Of course, there is no prohibition on players trading pins with other players at
any time!
In the initial year of our pin trading program, PrepVolleyball.com will produce
approximately 9,000 pins. Quantities of all pins will be limited, but some, like
the Limited Edition Volleyball 08 pin with glitter and dangler, will be
extremely rare. Only 50 will be made! There will be slider pins and blinkie
pins, some die struck, others photo etched. There will be pins for setters, for
hitters, middles and diggers, all custom-designed, unique volleyball pins
created by volleyball people.
Pin trading.
Embrace it. We’re excited about it and hope you are, too.
